Marrowstone Island

Beautiful day for a walk on Marrostone Island! Still chilly, but enjoyed watching the eagles flying around and the sunset behind the Olympic Mountains. Marrowstone Island, southeast of Port Townsend, Washington. A long and narrow piece of land, the island retains its rural solitude and highlights some spectacular shoreline vistas. The main town of Nordland lies in the center of the island and has a small neighborhood store. North is Fort Flagler State Park, with its bunkers and beaches, while the south end is connected by bridge to Indian Island (a naval reserve) and the rest of the Quimper Peninsula.
